Grameen Bank's phenomenal achievements in providing effective solutions to poverty alleviation in Bangladesh were globally recognized when it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 by the Nobel Committee.

Grameen Bank is a bank for the poor, with a visionary mission to alleviate poverty among the economically and socially disadvantaged, assetless population of the country. We are proud that the bank has played an active, positive, and robust role in the socio-economic transformation and growth of Bangladesh.
