Mr. Syed Motiur Rahman Appointed as Managing Director (Acting) of Grameen Bank.
The Board of Directors of Grameen Bank, in its 163rd meeting, appointed Mr. Syed Motiur Rahman as the Acting Managing Director of the Bank. With over 29 years of distinguished service in Grameen Bank and poverty alleviation, Mr. Rahman’s journey exemplifies dedication, expertise, hard work and honesty throughout his career have brought him in this top position from grass root level.
Before this appointment, Mr. Rahman served as the General Manager and Chief of the Service and Estate Department at the Bank’s Head Office. Starting his career with Grameen Bank in 1995, he has flourished through the ranks, showcasing exceptional leadership and operational acumen in a variety of roles. He began as a Branch Manager (Probationary Officer) and successively held positions as Program Officer, Area Manager, Zonal Audit Officer, and Zonal Manager. At the Head Office, he demonstrated his versatility by serving as the Associate Chief of the Welfare Management Department, Acting Chief of the Human Resource Management Department and Chief of the Service and Estate Department.
A native of Sirajganj district, Mr. Rahman was born in 1969. He completed his Master’s Degree in Mathematics with First Class from the University of Rajshahi in 1993. His remarkable journey from grassroots positions to the top leadership role underscores his hard work, efficiency, integrity, and unwavering dedication to achieve the Grameen Bank’s vision.
