Loan Insurance

Under this program, all outstanding loans are paid off from the insurance fund in the event of the death of a borrower or her husband or both. An insurance fund is created with interest generated through a savings account created by deposits of the borrowers. Up to November 2023 , outstanding loans and interest amounting to BDT 15.33 billion (USD 175.81 million) due from 795445 deceased borrowers were paid off under this program.
